A downloadable game for Windows

Is the world a dream, or are dreams the world...

Lost in mysterious world where all is without reason, a lone girl steps forth. Her only guide, a white cat that is always somehow ahead of her on her quest to find normality, leading her.

Update:

-Added a blue warp to a certain red room which returns you to the entrance. This serves to prevent a soft-lock as a result of an unforeseen sequence break. You can still sequence break but now you have a way back out if you do.

-fixed a potential freeze with the ending sequence.

-mouse now works correctly when window is resized or the game is in full screen.

-current position on map now pulses.

-right analogue stick on gamepad should now also control dash direction in addition to the left.

Game created in 18 days for the 'Metoidvania Month' and 'Magical Girl Game' jams.

Designed for keyboard and mouse, gamepad compatibility remains untested.

Man I love your games

great game! Fave of the jam so far.

Tiny note, but would be nice if your location on the map kinda had a pulse animation or something? After I rotated things, I thought the map stopped working and it took me a while to realize white room is my location. Just kinda a Metroidvania trope that I think I’m used to. Only note I got!

Oh also, controller support. If aiming with mouse worked better with right stick, where it aims and then snaps back instead of being a  static target

Thanks for playing the game, I'm glad you find it fun.

The map pulsing is a good idea, and I'll certainly look towards adding it.

As for the gamepad control-scheme changes, I cant directly test any of these changes due to lacking a controller of my own. Therefore any changes made are mostly going to be guesswork rather than something I can actually experiment with. However I will have a look at the code to see what I can do.

hm, the dashb is unreliable as the cursor direction not corresponding to the dash direction.
like in one room I could move the cursor anywhere but the dash direction would always be to the left

do you have a controller plugged in by any chance?

okay I'm stuck now.
beneath the yellow areas, in the middlebottom there there is a grey room to the left and a red room to the right.
got into the grey room to the left with double jump and dash, grabbed the crystal to the right.
and that's it.
cant get back up in the grey room and there aint any other exit.
or that crystal givers you some ability which wasnt explained?

okaym, dashing through the orbs lengthens the dash duration. but still cant manage to get back up there :-(

have you tried using the reset room option in pause menu (escape)?

well, that just reapwns me to the bottom right exit. and I 'd need to get to the top exit in that room, to get out :-(

can you show me a screenshot?

So what I believe has happened is you ended up in a late game area using abilities in a combination I hadn't thought off. You shouldn't even be in a red room without the ability to rotate the rooms.

I will come up with a solution and patch a fix. Thank you for playing the game and my apologies for the issues.

I have released a new version that adds a warp into the red room that will take you to the exit. These should apply to your save retroactively.

ok, I have tested, appears it is a bug with full screen mode, sorry about that. For now I suggest playing in windowed mode, I will look into patching the problem.
